Reading telephone poles
All over the city, these notices appear on telephone poles. I've noticed them, of course, but never thought much about them.
Then Ruth asked me what they are. I have no idea. They're always very neat so I figured they must be official. Governmental meeting notices? Election campaign flyers? There are almost always pictures on them. And sometimes I see people closely reading the phone poles, so they must be important.
So Ruth and I pulled out the dictionary and translated one. Obituaries. They're obituaries. And it turns out David knew this all along without ever translating one. How does he do that?
