Bajram

Yesterday was Bajram, known outside the Turkish world as Eid, the end of Ramadan. It's a national holiday here, so no school or work. We, along with everyone else in the pekara (bakery), bought Bajramski bread, which is shaped like a turban.

We kept everyone up late so we could walk the pedestrian thoroughfare, Ferhadija, and see all the Bajram lights.

For a vivid description and more photos, visit Emma Lucy's delightful blog (which pretty much makes my blog non-required reading).
