Jelka is the word in Bosnian

It's hard to find Christmas decorations in Sarajevo.  In the US, we usually cut down our own fresh Christmas tree. A Bosnian friend suggested we do that here, too, although she meant just hiking up into the mountains, not going to a Christmas tree farm (and she also says it's a New Year tree, not a Christmas tree). We thought we might have to celebrate the season without a tree, but our friends from church took us to the one store in town that has Christmas trees.

Artificial, but we don't even care.
