Faces of Sarajevo

More of the faces that watch us walking the streets.

Do you know the history of the reason for the faces?

The Austro-Hungarian buildings are much fancier than the earlier Turkish buildings--lots of decorative elements on the facades. I'm not sure there is a lot of significance to most of the faces--I think they were just intended to make the buildings fancier, with the exception of the photo with three different faces on one building. Those faces each seem to represent a different ethnic group in Bosnia. I'll have to see if I can get better shots of each of them.
