More of my unscientific, highly-idiosyncratic observations about differences between Sarajevo in 2010 and Sarajevo in 2002, when we lived here before.
I used to see a lot of fences patched together from scrap metal--old automobile grilles, flattened washing machine cases, odd pieces of metal. Since we've returned, I've only seen two of those fences.
People are installing new, beautiful fences, like this one I watched being put up last week.
If it were for my house, I'd be eager for the all-wood fence, but as a passer-by, I kind of miss the resourceful flair of the old fences.
